Attractions Beyond the Resort

For a fun history lesson, stop by St. Elmo’s Historic Ghost Town, an abandoned mining town set among beautiful mountains, where you’ll feel like you’ve traveled back in time to the late 1800s. You can tour St. Elmo’s by ATV or on foot.

The South Main riverfront district in nearby Buena Vista is a community specially designed for kayakers. Besides kayaking, River Park is also a perfect spot for a scenic hike, fishing outing or a romantic picnic. The park hosts concerts and an array of other activities as well. 

Fans of the arts can head south to the Salida Creative District. There are 30 artist-run galleries and a variety of boutiques offering antiques, handmade guitars and more. You can also taste locally distilled whiskey.
